What he was trying to say was that people shouldn't have to rely on things other than the government.
Yep - that's pretty much what I thought he meant to say, and, from where I'm sitting, that's a hell of a lot worse than any of the so-called "right-wing talking points".

The idea that lefties might start feeling comfortable enough with the attitude of the electorate to actually admit to their desired policies fills my heart with glee. There is a disturbing trend toward government reliance for sure, but interpreting that as an acceptance of full scale socialist takeover is a mistake.
